Tottenham SACK Mauricio Pochettino after five years at the club Tottenham have sacked Mauricio Pochettino after a poor start to the season left the club struggling in mid-table. The Argentine had been under intense scrutiny with Spurs languishing in 14th place in the Premier League with just three league wins all season, a huge fall from grace after he led the side to the Champions League final in the summer. There had been reports West Ham game would crucial in determining his future, but the club have now decided to act in an attempt to arrest the team's slump down the table. 'The Club can today announce that Mauricio Pochettino and his coaching staff Jesus Perez, Miguel D'Agostino and Antoni Jimenez have been relieved of their duties,' it said in a statement. Chairman, Daniel Levy, said: 'We were extremely reluctant to make this change and it is not a decision the Board has taken lightly, nor in haste. 'Regrettably domestic results at the end of last season and beginning of this season have been extremely disappointing.. 'We shall provide an update on new coaching staff in due course.' Speculation will be heating up regarding the Argentine's successor - Leipzig's Julian Nagelsmann, Napoli's Carlo Ancelotti and Bournemouth's Eddie Howe have all been heavily linked.
