Liverpool star sets another record at the FIFA World club cup in Qatar

Egyptian Mohammed Salah has set a record by becoming the first African player ever to win the World club cup Adidas golden ball and Alibaba cloud player of the tournament at just concluded FIFA world club cup after defeating Brazilian side, Flamengo.

This marks a remarkable year for the Egyptian as Mohamed Salah’s performances in Qatar were stellar from beginning to end. In his side’s first game, he provided a fantastic assist to Naby Keita, proving that he does not just score goals, but can help his team-mates find the net too. The Egyptian star’s blistering pace was a constant threat to opponents and, while he did not manage to score himself at Qatar 2019, he deservedly picked up the adidas Golden Ball for the brilliance of his play – something recognised by thousands of fans at the Khalifa International Stadium, who cheered his every touch.

Brazilian and Flamengo's winger Bruno Henrique won the silver ball as Carlos Eduardo of Al Hilal was voted the third best player of the tournament while Esperance Sportive de Tunis were awarded the fair play award.

An extra time goal from Brazilian Firmino made sure Liverpool won their first ever world club cup in Qatar.
